A Conversation with Christina Ahmadjian, Professor of Management at Hitotsubashi University

Christina Ahmadjian is Professor of Management at Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of Business Administration, in Tokyo. She has written extensively on comparative corporate governance, Japanese business and management, and the effect of global investors on national business systems. She currently is a non-executive director at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Japan Exchange Group (parent company of the Tokyo Stock Exchange), Sumitomo Electric Industries, and Asahi Group Holdings . She received an A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard University, an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a PhD from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.

She is an American citizen and has lived in Japan for 23 years.

Christina was in Columbia in January for an international business conference held by the Moore School at the University of South Carolina. She shared her thoughts on corporate governance as well as advice for American business students in our conversation.
