Anthony J. Beatty Joins Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands

October 9, 2009

COLUMBIA, SC – October 6, 2009 – Anthony J. Beatty has joined Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands as vice president of finance and administration.

“Anthony joins us at a great time,” said Carter Clark, chief professional officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands. “We are, as always, striving to give quality before and after-school care to all children in the Midlands, whether they’re able to pay full tuition or not. Anthony is helping us streamline and modernize our operations in all of our 31 Clubs here in the Midlands in a fiscally responsible way.”

Beatty graduated from the University of South Carolina before he joined the Air Force. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and then served on active and reserve duty for a total of 22 years. Before relocating to Columbia this summer, Beatty lived in Washington, D.C., where he worked for several large corporations and organizations including Aramark, where he served as regional controller. Most recently, he served as the director of finance and administration for the U.S. Grains Council.

“I wanted to have a position where service was a primary goal, and I also wanted to work in a family environment, and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands is definitely a fit for that,” said Beatty. “My main priority in this position right now is fine tuning our back-office operations. I want our parents to get the same great service from the back office as they see with their children every day in our clubs.”
