City of Cayce Kicks-Off Visioning Process

CAYCE, SC – May 13, 2009 – The Master Plan Charrette for the City of Cayce is an intense 3-day visioning process involving input from citizens, interest groups, businesses, government leaders and economic development organizations. The visioning process will begin on Tuesday, May 19th and end with a press conference and presentation on Thursday, May 21st at 5:30 pm at City Hall.
A Charrette is an intensive planning session in which citizens, designers and others collaborate on a vision for development.
The Charrette team will interact with local groups to develop a vision for the city and includes:
- economic developers
- landscape architects
- architects
- marketing experts
“The vision, along with specific recommendations in building design, public improvements and plan implementation are presented on the third evening of the process,” says Mayor Elise Partin. “The team will continue to work with citizens’ groups and city officials to facilitate meetings and provide technical assistance after the initial phase to ensure that the implementation process proceeds smoothly,” she adds.
