Dates Announced for Cayce’s 2009 Congaree Bluegrass Festival

11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
WHERE: Granby GardensPark, Cayce City Hall Complex
1800 12th Street, Cayce, SC
WHAT: The day-long festival will include performances by
six bands:
- The Dillards (also known as The Darlings on the Andy Griffith Show)
- Bill Wells & The Blue Ridge Mountain Grass
- Sugarloaf Mountain Boys
- Darlene and Reflections of Bluegrass
- Easy Pickin’s
- Anne and Shellie & The UBgB
In addition to the musical performances, the annual event will feature food and craft vendors, banjo and guitar contests and a children’s play area with panning for gold, a bounce house and a haystack search. The festival will also include a band scramble contest in which musicians are randomly assigned to form a band, perform together and compete for prizes. Food vendors, special exhibits from the Cayce Historical Museum and free tours of the museum will round out the event.
The festival is free to the public, except for food. Coolers and pets are not permitted at the Congaree Bluegrass Festival, but lawn chairs are welcomed.
