Deadline Approaches for Cayce’s Amateur Photographer Contest
April 28, 2009CAYCE, SC – April 28, 2009 – Cayce has announced its second annual amateur photography contest for the 2009-2010 citizens’ calendar. The city would like to remind potential applicants that the deadline for entry is Thursday, May 7, 2009. The contest calls for photos featuring locations in the city or residents of Cayce, but the contest is open to all amateur photographers in South Carolina.
“This year’s Cayce Calendar was such a big hit. We are looking forward to receiving more outstanding entries for next year’s calendar,” said Mayor Elise Partin. “It gives people the chance to show off their favorite parts of the city, from the people to sights.”
Last year’s winners included shots of picturesque landscapes, fun family snapshots and the grand prize winner, Krispy Kreme in the early morning, a Cayce landmark.
The grand prize winner will receive a $100 cash prize and have his/her winning entry featured on the calendar’s cover. An additional eleven photographs will be selected for inclusion in the calendar and those contestants will receive a Reflections of Cayce poster and a Cayce t-shirt.
Photographs must be the original work of the applicant and feature Cayce locations or people as its subject matter. The entry deadline is Thursday, May 7, 2009. Photos may be color and should be submitted as an 8”x10” image with name of photo, name of photographer and completed registration and release forms, which are located on the City of Cayce web site (http://www.cityofcayce-sc.gov.)
