Walk, Run & Roll for Brain Injury Awareness Kicks Off March 23
The Brain Injury Association of South Carolina (BIASC) invites the community to lace up, roll out, and come together for the Walk, Run & Roll for Brain Injury Awareness, happening March 23–29.
The event kicks off with a celebration on March 23 at 2:30 p.m. at Bierkeller Columbia (600 Canalside St.), where participants will take part in a group walk, run, or roll along Columbia’s scenic canal. Afterward, attendees will enjoy a lively reception featuring inspiring music curated by brain injury survivors and presented by DJ Preach Jacobs. In addition, delicious food and drinks, and family-friendly activities will give the community a chance to connect, show support, and build awareness in a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
Can’t make the kickoff? No problem! Supporters can walk, run, or roll anytime between March 23–29, wherever they are, to help raise funds and awareness for brain injury education, advocacy, and resources.

Why This Matters
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month, a time to highlight the challenges faced by individuals living with brain injury and the resources available to support them. Brain injury impacts thousands of South Carolinians each year, but awareness and support can make a life-changing difference. The Walk, Run & Roll is an opportunity to support survivors and rally around their strength and resilience.
“Brain injury doesn’t just affect individuals—it impacts families, workplaces, and entire communities,” said Joyce Davis, Executive Director of BIASC. “By participating in the Walk, Run & Roll, we stand with survivors and ensure critical resources are available for those in need.”
The Walk, Run & Roll for Brain Injury Awareness is a statewide fundraiser supporting BIASC’s mission to create a better future through brain injury prevention, research, education, and advocacy.
