Williams is an award-winning columnist and prolific author who unearths the treasures of Georgetown County’s African American heritage. Among several other titles\, Williams is the author of Ebony Effects: 150 Unknown Facts about Blacks in Georgetown\, SC\, a book that has been reprinted multiple times\, and As I Travel Along: The Story of Harriet Tubman and James Bowley. He was instrumental in bringing Wesley Wofford’s inspiring sculpture “Harriet Tubman: Journey to Freedom” to Georgetown\, where it was placed on public display at Rainey Park for several months.
