DESCRIPTION:The 42nd annual MOJA Arts Festival will run Sept. 24 through Oct. 1 at locations across Charleston\, featuring local and national performers. This is the first year the festival has been planned by MOJA Arts\, a newly formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to stabilize and grow the event long-term. \nThe festival is shortening from 11 days to eight this year and introducing a new tradition: honoring the cultural legacies of four West African and Caribbean nations. The 2026 festival will spotlight Barbados\, Gullah Geechee\, Jamaica and Sierra Leone. \nThe festival finale at Hampton Park will highlight the 50th anniversary of several iconic 1976 albums\, anchored by a free\, family-friendly concert produced by Ray Chew of Chew Entertainment and Charleston’s Tommy Brown. The lineup draws from Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life\,” Parliament’s “Mothership Connection\,” Marvin Gaye’s “I Want You\,” Earth\, Wind & Fire’s “Spirit\,” Curtis Mayfield’s “Sparkle” soundtrack\, The Isley Brothers’ “Harvest for the World\,” Rose Royce’s “Car Wash” soundtrack and Roy Ayers’ “Ubiquity.”

DESCRIPTION:The Carolina Lady Anglers are gearing up for their 28th Annual Fishing For the Cure Tournament\, taking place Saturday\, September 26\, 2026\, at the Charleston Rifle Club. The annual tournament brings anglers and the community together to enjoy a day of saltwater fishing while raising funds to support local breast cancer patients through After Care Essentials. \nThe Carolina Lady Anglers are currently seeking local businesses and individuals interested in supporting the tournament through sponsorships and donations. Proceeds from Fishing For the Cure benefit local breast cancer patients\, continuing the club’s longstanding commitment to giving back to the Charleston community. \nThe mission of the Carolina Lady Anglers is to raise funds to help those affected by breast cancer while fostering good sportsmanship\, promoting conservation and encouraging participation in saltwater fishing. \nThe tournament is open to men\, women and children of all ages. A Captain’s Meeting and registration will be held Wednesday\, September 23\, at 6 p.m. at the Charleston Rifle Club\, located at 2221 Heriot Street in Charleston. The tournament will take place Saturday\, September 26 and the weigh-in will be held from 5–6 p.m. at the Charleston Rifle Club. An awards ceremony will follow the weigh-in. \nAdult entry is $40\, while youth ages 12 and under may enter for $15. Entry includes a tournament T-shirt\, bucket\, dinner and beverages. The event will also feature a kids raffle\, regular raffle and silent auction prizes\, along with an opportunity to participate in the tournament Calcutta. \nThis year’s eligible species include King Mackerel\, Spanish Mackerel\, Flounder\, Sheepshead\, Trout\, Ladyfish and Dogfish\, with a Mystery Fish also to be announced at the Captain’s Meeting. Awards will be presented across multiple species categories\, along with Outstanding Male\, Female\, Youth Male and Youth Female Angler awards. \nIn addition to the fishing competition\, the Captain’s Meeting and tournament events provide an opportunity for anglers\, families\, sponsors and community members to come together for a great cause. Food will be provided by Swig & Swine\, and live music will be performed by Butch Martin. \nThe Carolina Lady Anglers have a long history of supporting local breast cancer patients through Fishing For the Cure. DESCRIPTION:Calling all nature enthusiasts and social butterflies: Caw Caw Interpretive Center’s next Birds of a Feather event is set for Saturday\, September 26. Enjoy an evening of music\, food and exploring nature from 5 – 7 p.m. \nSpread your wings and enjoy live music from Connor Hollifield\, as well as beer and wine\, which is included in the ticket price\, all while experiencing the natural beauty of Caw Caw Interpretive Center. Food from Alekos Greek Gyros will be available for purchase. \nGuests are also permitted to bring their own food. Valid ID must be presented for alcohol\, and outside alcohol is prohibited. Ages 20 and under are welcome free of charge with a paid ticket holder. Non-drinkers are free and do not require a ticket .Dogs and bicycles are not permitted at this event. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. \nCaw Caw Interpretive Center is a 654-acre site in Ravenel that is rich in natural\, cultural and historical resources. The site is a favored habitat for many different species of birds and animals.
