SUMMARY:ArtFields Extended: Arts Center of Kershaw County
DESCRIPTION:This August the Arts Center is proud to welcome our newest exhibition to the Bassett Gallery. ArtFields Extended: Arts Center of Kershaw County. \nArtFields started in 2013 with a simple goal: honor the artists of the Southeast with a week’s worth of celebration and competition in the heart of a traditional Southern small town. With over $145\,000 in cash prizes each year\, the competition empowers hundreds of contemporary Southern artists to create dazzling new works. As a part of that competition\, over 400 works of art are displayed annually across Lake City\, South Carolina. Many artists enter the competition\, and some will earn an award – but only the grand prize winner is added to the ArtFields permanent collection each year. \nA cross-section of some of the best art produced in the Southeast\, ArtFields Extended: Arts Center of Kershaw County features a selection of incredible works from the permanent collection. Each work captures a piece of the time\, place\, and social context in which it was created\, serving as a powerful testament to the incredible talent and perspective of Southern artists. \nGallery Exhibition: August 24 – September 23\nOpen to the public M-F 10:00am-5:00pm and Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm

SUMMARY:SolFest RollFest is back this year and wrapping up summer with tons of good music and fun!
DESCRIPTION:NoMa Warehouse is pleased to announce that SolFest RollFest\, a music and bicycle festival is back for its 3rd year\, and will take place on Saturday\, August 26\, 2023 from 4pm-10pm at NoMa Warehouse.  \n\n\nA music and community event started by NoMa Warehouse in 2021\, SolFest began as a micro-music festival hosted at 2222 Sumter St.  The first year’s event was held on the Summer Solstice and focused on music\, community\, and fun with 4 bands\, 10 local sponsors\, and a sold-out audience of 200.  For 2022\, NoMa Warehouse wanted to bring an event that is bigger and more impactful to Columbia.  Inspired by the band Illiterate Light’s sustainability initiatives and their bike-powered stage\, a sustainability focus and bicycling element were added\, and SolFest RollFest was born.   \nThe 2022 event was held at Earlewood Park\, featured a bike-powered stage pedaled and powered by an army of volunteers.   \nThis year\, SolFest RollFest returns to Sumter St and will take place inside and outside of NoMa Warehouse. The goal again is to be a zero-waste event\, so guests will be asked to bring their own containers for beer and drinks\, bring their own t-shirts to be printed with festival graphics\, and vendors will all be eco-friendly and generate as little waste as possible!  In addition to amazing music\, there will be vendors to visit and fun activities throughout the day. \nLocal band Homemade Haircuts\, who helped start this event will be headlining this year’s festival and are joined by Danielle Howle\, Dear Blanca\, and Monti-Rabbit. \n\n\nSolFest RollFest hopes to welcome 500 attendees to the event this year and make a positive economic impact on the City of Columbia and Richland County. Proceeds from the event will enable NoMa Warehouse to contribute to Sustainable Midlands and the Colatown Bike Collective\, both of which raise awareness and take action to improve sustainability and safe\, healthy communities.   \n\n\nThe Rockin’ Rollin’ Group Ride registration as well as sponsorship\, vendor and volunteer applications are open now. \n\n\nNoMa Warehouse is a co-working community for artists and creators.  We inspire creative work and opportunity by bringing together creators\, makers\, collectors\, and storytellers to cultivate a rich and diverse community of friends and supporters.  We believe we are better together. \n\n\nFor more information on SolFest RollFest 2023\, please visit @SolFest.RollFest on Facebook and Instagram. \n\n\nTickets \nEvent Info \nVendor Application \nSponsor Application \n
