SUMMARY:Shirley Bannister Memorial Blood Drive
DESCRIPTION:Midlands Technical College’s beloved Shirley Bannister spent her life helping others. Shirley was well-known to our local Red Cross\, as she worked blood drives with them and was collaborating with them to increase participation at our MTC Blood Drives. MTC has dedicated this blood drive in her honor after Shirley and her daughter\, Demi\, died from COVID-19. \nPlease choose to be a life saver by donating blood on Tuesday\, October 13 or Wednesday\, October 14 at the Airport Campus Student Center. A blood donation typically takes less than an hour. If you can’t give blood\, you can still contribute by spreading the word and asking others to donate. \nSafety protocols will be in place. Registration is required\, and all participants will be required to wear a face covering. The Red Cross staff will help ensure social distancing\, and there will be enhanced cleaning and sanitizing. \nPlease join us as MTC honors Shirley’s life and legacy of service. Your blood donation can save the lives of up to three people. \nIf saving lives isn’t motivation enough\, here’s a couple of other good reasons to give blood: All donors for the month of October are entered for a chance to win one of five $1\,000 Amazon e-gift cards\, and donors will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies. \n*COVID-19 Safety Protocols will be in place.

Ellie Roberts (Frozen Jr.) brings the very best of sass as Jane with Kyran Burkett (Newsies) following close behind as Michael. Patrick McCormick (Mamma Mia) seemingly rules the household as George Banks while Hannah Thompson (Into the Woods) is caught in a struggle between playing wife and being her true self as Winifred Banks. Our talent-packed cast has worked hard to “Step in Time!” They’ll show you that “Anything Can Happen If You Let It.” \nShows are at 7:30 PM Thursdays\, Fridays and Saturdays\, Nov. 7 & 14. 3:00 PM matinees will be on Saturdays\, Oct. 24 & 31 and Sundays. \n \nMary Poppins is sponsored by Hood Construction\, Jim Hudson Automotive and First Citizens Bank.
