Friendly Tide Returns Carolina Beach Party to Columbia's Vista

April 15, 2009

COLUMBIA, SC – April 14, 2009 – Midlands residents should watch for rising tides returning the South Carolina Philharmonic’s fundraising Carolina Beach Party on Thursday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. in The Hall at 320 Senate Street.

“Carolina Beach Party” is the 2009 version of the Philharmonic’s annual spring fundraising event. Playing off the success of last year’s “Tides of Change” beach party, “Carolina Beach Party” offers a tempting array of food and beverages, games and live music from beach band The Educators to bring a rollicking beach blast to downtown Columbia.

A silent auction will also take place during “Carolina Beach Party.” Proceeds from the party and silent auction will benefit the S.C. Philharmonic.

The party is being held at The Hall at 320 Senate Street in Columbia’s Vista. The Hall at 320 Senate Street is operated by Vista Events Signature Catering, the providers of the evening’s food and beverages. Guests can expect tantalizing seafood, “Cheeseburgers in Paradise,” sweet potato chips with aioli, southern fried okra, dipped ice cream, iced beers, a full bar and more.

The sounds of The Educators will allow guests to shag the evening away as the live ensemble performs favorites throughout the evening. Additional entertainment includes games and a silent auction. Featured items include several getaway trips, a Lake Murray sunset dinner cruise, a Pupcakes party for 10 dogs, a private recital by a violin duet, gift certificates to Columbia restaurants and business and much more.

Tickets to “Tides of Change” are $75 per person and $150 per couple and include food, drinks and games. Beach/resort casual attire is recommended. To reserve admission or get sponsorship information, call the Philharmonic Box Office at 803.254.PHIL.
