The Director, Operational Risk will be responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate and monitor the Bank’s operational risk. Leads the Bank’s Operational Risk Management function which includes oversite of business continuity and third party management. Develops related reports and details findings to senior executives and the Board of Directors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for support of the Executive Committee’s management of the Enterprise Risk Management framework by developing appropriate metrics and related reporting for senior executives and the Board of Directors
• Works with lines of business, technology, compliance, legal and other partners to develop operation risk mitigation strategies and ensure related risk oversight and infrastructure to measure, monitor, and control such risks
• Responsible for identifying operational process gaps and risk trends
• Leads the Business Continuity function, ensuring that business continuity and recovery plans are updated and tested regularly, with a goal of keeping the business operating as usual during disruptive events or disaster and minimizing the potential of substantial disruption
• Leads the oversight of Third Party Risk Management to ensure appropriate oversight of vendor and other third party due diligence, onboarding, monitoring and reporting
• Advises senior management on risks tied to third party partners, including those related to intellectual property, data, operations, and privacy

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field is required
• Eight to ten years of risk management experience, preferably in the financial services industry with senior leadership experience
• Proven ability to be strategic, analytical and constructively critical. Able to develop comprehensive solutions to complex problems
• Ability to effective interact/negotiate with customers/employees at all levels of the organization, including senior management and Board of Directors
• Leadership skills including the ability to motivate, train, and develop team
• Understanding of continuous process improvement, root cause, critical success factors and key risk indicators
• Strong skills to uncover and improve process gaps with ability to identify traceable metrics
• Excellent knowledge of change management processes and driving results in a matrix organization
• Able to develop and champion strategies and lead teams through implementation of goals
• Strong listening and communication skills. Executive presence and ability to manage complexity and a broad scope
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
