Job Responsibilities
The State Treasurer’s Office promotes a culture that is a fast-paced environment that supports high performance, exceptional work product, accountability and collaboration. The HR Coordinator is a critical generalist role that contributes to the administration and management of assigned Human Resources responsibilities.

Responsible for accurate transactional processing and maintenance of data in the SCEIS SAP HR/Payroll system and SCEIS Data Entry/System Access, as well as personnel and benefits file administration.

Collaborates with hiring managers on a timely basis to update position descriptions, create and post vacancy notices, actively engage in traditional and progressive recruitment methods, mediums, and screen applicants. Facilitates onboarding and offboarding tasks.

Coordinates assigned aspects of the agency’s comprehensive benefits and leave programs. Assists in the planning of employee reward and recognition events and programs, as well as wellness initiatives.

Provides assistance to the agency’s classification and compensation, time and leave, performance management and EEO functions.

Ensures compliance with applicable Federal/State laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. Maintains personnel records.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in relevant human resources programs.

Knowledge of the fundamental principles and best practices of human resources management. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of HR related federal laws and State regulations. Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Ability to analyze data and present ideas clearly.

Must have the ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting a variety of policies and procedures. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and appropriately use discretion

Must be able to safely lift and carry files, books and reports weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for intermittent periods of time. Must be able to reach, bend, and twist at the waist to perform filing, desk work and operate general office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience or exposure to the HR Module in SCEIS/SAP (Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time/Leave, and/or Payroll) is preferred.

A strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Excel in particular, is preferred.
