AgFirst is seeking a Senior Portfolio Risk Officer. Responsible for operating and updating the Bank’s stress testing models, processes and procedures. Provides support and training for Bank-provided stress testing models to Associations and other Farm Credit institutions. Supports CECL implementation for the Bank and AgFirst District Associations to satisfy Farm Credit System parallel run and FASB adoption requirements. Independently tests and documents model validation results, including analyzing and interpreting statistical data, assessments of model conceptual soundness, evaluation of data and assumptions, testing model computational accuracy, and performing outcomes analysis. Prepares portfolio risk analyses and presentations for executive management, Risk Policy Committee, and Board of Directors. Represents the AgFirst District on designated Farm Credit System initiatives. Provides leadership and support for Bank projects and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for operating, updating, and validating the Bank’s stress testing models, processes and procedures
• Develops stress test scenarios and analyzes stress test model inputs, assumptions, and outputs
• Builds and enhances financial models to provide impacts of stress testing to the Bank
• Provides support and training for Bank-provided stress testing models to Associations and other Farm Credit institutions
• Supports CECL implementation for the Bank and AgFirst District Associations to satisfy Farm Credit System parallel run and FASB adoption requirements
• Independently tests and documents model validation results, including analyzing and interpreting statistical data, assessments of model conceptual soundness, evaluation of data and assumptions, testing model computational accuracy, and performing outcomes analysis
• Assists in updating and developing the Bank’s Risk Management function. Duties include, but are not limited to: 1) Working with Farm Credit System Workgroups to develop system-wide risk management practices; 2) Working with Bank and District workgroups to develop and improve risk management practices, and; 3) Assisting with drafting of Risk Management procedures, where necessary
• Supports the preparation of monthly and quarterly portfolio risk analyses and presentations for the Risk Policy Committee and Board of Directors
• Responsible for the analysis of various credit risk topics and portfolios as requested
• Automates and documents the building of reports and processes as necessary in compliance with the Bank’s Data Governance policies
• Monitors regulatory changes related to credit risk management and develop appropriate plans and results as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting
• Minimum of 7 years of banking experience involving lending, accounting, financial reporting, loan systems, project management, and/or model development and validation
• Possess strong written and verbal skills, including ability to interpret regulatory statutes and regulations
• Experienced in writing policies and procedures
• Possess ability to effectively work with Bank Managers and other Bank Employees in a team environment to achieve Bank goals
• The ability to work independently with little supervision is essential. Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff as a subject matter expert. May lead projects for the department
• Requires strong computer skills particularly; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SQL, statistical software packages, and data visualization tools.
• Must have an advanced knowledge of operational systems and databases
• Thorough understanding of GAAP
• Understands trends impacting the business
• Effective group presentation, leadership and coaching skills
