DESCRIPTION:Palmetto Islands County Park will host its next Palmetto Park Jam on Sunday\, Oct. 11. A perfect afternoon for anyone who loves great music\, Palmetto Park Jam will feature Charleston-based Allman Brothers tribute band Idlewild Revival\, along with opening act Novatones. \nGates for the event open at 11 a.m. Music from Novatones will begin at 12 p.m.\, and Idlewild Revival will play starting at 1:30 p.m. \nHeld in a family-friendly festival atmosphere in the meadow at Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park\, the event will also feature food trucks offering up food for sale\, cold drinks\, and craft vendors selling goods. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to settle in for an afternoon of music\, community\, and the outdoors. \nAdmission to the event will be charged per vehicle of up to 15 people. Advance admission will be $20 per car\, or $30 per car on site if the event is not sold out. Advance ticket purchase is highly recommended. Gold Pass holders will be admitted free of charge\, but are not guaranteed admission should the event sell out in advance. Gold Passes will not be sold on site. DESCRIPTION:Charleston County Parks is hosting its third annual Fall Family Festival in Hollywood! Join the fun at this free event held at the West County Aquatic Center and Hollywood Town Hall on Saturday\, Oct. 17 from 1 – 4 p.m. \nBring the whole family out to celebrate community\, make memories and enjoy a beautiful fall day together. Kids will enjoy jump castles\, climbing wall\, face painting\, and games\, while everyone can enjoy music from a DJ\, delicious food truck favorites\, crafts\, and plenty of fun. Admission is free\, and open to all. \nFood and beverages will be available for purchase\, or guests may bring their own food. Food vendors on site will be J.A.R. Chili Dogs & More and Kona Ice. \nOther community partners will also be on site\, including the Town of Hollywood\, St. Paul’s Hollywood Library\, St. Paul’s Fire District and others. \nAlcohol is prohibited and pets are not permitted at this event. Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs and blankets for seating. \nAccessible parking is available. KultureCity sensory bags will be available for checkout on a first-come\, first-served basis. SUMMARY:New race on Nov. 7 at Laurel Hill County Park: Shake Your Trail Feathers 5K\, 10K and Kids Dash
DESCRIPTION:Charleston County Parks introduced a new race at beautiful Laurel Hill County Park this November! On Saturday\, Nov. 7\, the Shake Your Trail Feathers race will debut at the Mount Pleasant park\, offering a 5K\, a 10K and a Kids Dash. \nThis festive race will mix high-energy fall fun with off-road adventure. Runners will weave through wooded paths and dirt trails\, while kicking up some leaves. Costumes are encouraged on the course\, and runners will enjoy a finish line celebration featuring music and fall-themed treats. Plus\, runners will enjoy beautiful views throughout the park\, including moss-draped oaks and peaceful views. \nWinners of the race will take home the fixings for a Thanksgiving feast\, and all finishers will receive a commemorative medal! \nThe 5K and 10K will kick off at 9 a.m. Prior to the race\, at 8:45 a.m.\, children of all ages are invited to take part in an untimed Kids Dash across the finish line (parent or guardian must be present). Registration is required for all races\, and includes finisher medals. \nRegistration is only available in advance at CharlestonCountyParks.com (direct link) and ends on Wednesday\, Nov. 4. On-site registration is not available. \n \n\n5K registration: $38\n10K registration: $40\nKids Dash registration: $5\n\nThe course features trails of a natural\, unimproved surface. The course is a loop course that offers occasional areas of uneven terrain and varies from hard-packed trails with roots to grass. Strollers are not recommended\, and pets are not permitted on the race course. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottle. \nThis race is open to runners and walkers of all levels\, including beginners. Participants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. No accessible parking is available. An accessible port-a-let is available at the event site. \nLaurel Hill County Park is located between Highway 17N and Highway 41 in Mount Pleasant. For the race\, attendees must enter through the special event entrance location at 1400 Highway 41.
