DESCRIPTION:Film enthusiasts and aspiring media professionals are invited to join in on a conversation with screenwriter Shelley Reid and actor Grainger Hines Friday\, March 21\, at 5 p.m. in the Barksdale Recital Hall at Lander University. Reid and Hines will be giving a presentation on their new feature film\, Long Shadows\, as part of the Lander Film Festival. This event is free and open to the public\, and provides an in-depth look at the screenwriting\, filmmaking and acting in the new film. \nAs a veteran screenwriter\, Shelley Reid will share insights into his creative journey\, detailing the transition from script to screen for Long Shadows\, which is set for a theatrical release this summer. His presentation will cover key elements of storytelling\, character development and the challenges of bringing a script to life in the film industry. \nJoining Reid is Greenwood native Grainger Hines\, who portrays Sheriff Wesley Tibbs in Long Shadows. Hines\, known for his extensive work in film and television\, will provide firsthand accounts of his experiences on set and offer valuable perspectives on the art of screen acting. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q and A session\, making this event ideal for film lovers\, students and anyone interested in the cinematic arts. \nFounded in 2010\, the Lander University Film Festival provides outstanding film-related opportunities to Lander students\, and the arts and film communities in South Carolina and beyond.
