SUMMARY:Lander University to Host Reception for MAT Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The community is invited to join the Department of Art + Design at Lander University for a reception with student artists featured in the 2025 MAT Art Exhibit Thursday\, March 27 at 5 p.m. Titled “The Formidable Classroom: An Art Educator’s Collective\,” the exhibit will be on display beginning Tuesday\, March 25\, through Wednesday\, April 9. The reception and visits to the gallery are free and open to the public. \nIn the final semester of the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program at Lander\, students showcase their own graduate creative work as well as artwork from the students they teach. “The Formidable Classroom: An Art Educator’s Collective” will include work from MAT candidates Colby Burdette and Ali Stigall. \nThe MAT program at Lander University is a graduate degree program with a focus in art education. This degree is designed for the practical preparation of qualified individuals seeking initial K-12 certification in art. MAT graduates are certified to teach K-12 in South Carolina schools.
