SUMMARY:Lander Writers Series\, Featuring Robert Maynor
DESCRIPTION:The community is invited to join the Department of English and Foreign Languages for the annual Lander Writers Series featuring author and Lander alumnus Robert Maynor. The event will take place on Wednesday\, Nov. 1\, at 7 p.m. in the Abney Cultural Center Auditorium on the Lander campus and is free and open to the public. \nRobert Maynor is a 2012 graduate of Lander University\, where he earned a BA in English\, and the author of The Big Game Is Every Night\, which was selected for publication in 2022 by Hub City Press. It’s now available wherever books are sold. Short stories by Maynor have also appeared in several publications\, including Blood Orange Review\, BULL\, The Carolina Quarterly and CRAFT. His work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize\, and he is the past recipient of the Larry Brown Short Story Award and the Coker Fellowship in Fiction from the South Carolina Academy of Authors. \nA reception will follow the event\, where copies of The Big Game Is Every Night will be available for purchase.
