DESCRIPTION:The Laurens District Genealogical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday\, September 11\, 2025\, at 7:00 p.m. at the Laurens County Museum\, located at 116 South Public Square in Laurens. \nThe evening’s featured speaker will be Karen Petit of Greenwood\, SC\, who works at Lander University. Petit\, a descendant of several families from the historic Ninety-Six District who fought in the American Revolution\, will present a program highlighting her ancestral connections to the war\, the Battle of Hayes Station\, and the notorious Loyalist commander “Bloody Bill” Cunningham. \nIn addition\, Petit will discuss her latest book\, Celebrate America!
