DESCRIPTION:Laurens County Safe Home will mark Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October with two special events aimed at raising funds\, educating the community\, and honoring survivors. This year also marks a milestone—40 years of providing advocacy\, shelter\, and hope to survivors of domestic violence in Laurens County. \n5K Run/Walk – Saturday\, October 18 \nThe signature Bring One\, Wear One Annual Luncheon will take place on Tuesday\, October 28\, at The Ballroom Weddings and Events venue\, 241 S. Harper Street Extension in Laurens. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. \nThis year’s luncheon will feature keynote speaker Tanisha Bagley\, an acclaimed author\, national public speaker\, and lifelong advocate for survivors of domestic violence\, rape\, and sexual assault. Known for her resilience and compelling storytelling\, Bagley has inspired audiences nationwide with her journey of survival and advocacy. \nIn keeping with tradition\, attendees are asked to bring new\, unused undergarments to donate. Tickets are $40 per person\, with 100% of proceeds directly benefiting survivors of domestic violence.
