DESCRIPTION:The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is hosting a free community event this Saturday and wants to spread the word to the community. Details below! \nBHDD Hosts Free Community Event in Spartanburg for Suicide Prevention Month \nWHAT: The BHDD Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center is hosting a free family event with:\n• a coat giveaway\n• games and door prizes\n• live entertainment by DJ Rain\n• children’s activities provided by the Children’s Museum of the Upstate\n• a community resource area \nWHEN: Saturday\, Sept. 26\, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. \nWHERE: Dr. T.K. Gregg Community Center\, 650 Howard Street\, Spartanburg\, SC 29303 \nDETAILS: Staff from BHDD’s Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center organized the event. The center’s FOCUS youth crisis program collected more than 200 coats for the giveaway\, which honors former program administrator Michelle Kelley. \n“We encourage everyone to come out\, connect with community resources\, and enjoy a day of fun\, support and hope\,” said Dr. Ebony Gaffney\, center director. \nABOUT BHDD: The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) is the cabinet agency for behavioral health care and specialized disability services.
