Palmetto Artist Series to Begin This September in Irmo
August 28, 2009COLUMBIA, SC – August 28, 2009 – The Palmetto Artist Series will return to Irmo with six performances in 2009 and 2010. Our goal is to offer high-caliber presenters without it costing a fortune for the average family, said Marc Rattray, St. Andrews Presbyterian’s Director of Worship and Arts.
First, the Raleigh Ringers, an internationally-acclaimed handbell choir, showcase their unique interpretations of sacred, secular, and popular music. They open the series at 7:30 P.M. on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009.
Keith and Kristyn Getty come to St. Andrews on Nov. 21, 2009 at 7:30 P.M. Known for their modern hymns such as In Christ Alone and The Power of the Cross, the duo and their band will play a rare local concert.
The Worship and Arts Ministry of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church will present classic Christmas carols with ‘The Many Moods of Christmas on Dec. 12 and 13, 2009 at 6:00 P.M.
The Keyboards of Praise Piano Duo will perform Feb. 5, 2010 at 7:30 P.M. Accomplished musicians Sharon Hudson Rattray and Allison Hudson Hilbish are joined by Matthew Jones for an evening of classics and beloved hymns.
Known for humor without vulgarity, Christian comedian Charles Marshall is both family-friendly and funny. His act, which covers topics many aspects of life, takes place March 12, 2010 at 7:30 P.M.
The season closes out The King’s Brass, back by popular demand after last year’s much-lauded performance. Three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, keyboards, and percussion combine to create an innovative performance on April 24, 2010 at 7:30 P.M.
All performances take place at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church at 6952 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, S.C.
