DESCRIPTION:Main Events\nWooden Boat Exhibit | Awards Ceremony 4 PM\nOver 100 classic wooden boats ranging in size from kayaks to yachts will be displayed in the water and on Front street. Visitors will be able to meet and talk to wooden boat craftsmen\, manufacturers\, and owners. Maritime art\, crafts\, models and educational exhibits will also be on display. \nWooden Boat Challenge: Boatbuilding 12 noon- 4 PM | Rowing Race 5 PM | MORE INFO\nTeams of two will compete to build a rowing skiff within a 4-hour time limit and then test their boats for seaworthiness in a rowing relay on the Sampit River. The teams will be judged on construction speed\, quality of work\, and rowing speed. Cash prizes will be awarded to first\, second\, and third place winners. \nKnot Tying with Dan “the Knot Man” and the Spirit Knot Tyers –Dan “the Knot Man” will demonstrate knot tying for children and adults. Visitors will have an opportunity to test their knot tying skills in the “Six Knot Challenge.” Dan is a member of the Spirit Knot Tyers and former president of the International Guild of Knot Tyers. \nThe Ship’s Store: Poster signing and T-shirts –Wooden Boat Show featured artist will be on hand to sign posters. Races will be held from the docks at Francis Marion Park. Sailors will need to arrive at check-in 15 minutes prior to their race with a USCG approved life jacket and dressed for the weather. Group photos will be taken prior to each heat and then sailors will be escorted down to the docks and our volunteer will review the course with them.  \nNauti Dog Parade 12:30 PM |  MORE INFO\nCelebrate this dog friendly event – nautical style! We will have a dog parade down Front Street. Dogs must dress in their finest nautical garb (extra points for owners who do the same!). Participants will gather at Constitution Park adjacent to Orange St. at 12pm.\nParade will start at 12:30 from the park and end at the Main Stage near Broad St. MUST BE REGISTERED TO PARTICIPATE. LEASHES REQUIRED. \nCorrugated Boat Regatta: Preview of Boats 11 AM – 2  PM  | Regatta 2:30 PM  |  MORE INFO\nRegatta participants will stretch the limits of their ingenuity to design boats made entirely of corrugated cardboard. No other construction materials are allowed\, with the exception of tape\, waterproofing\, and corrugated oars to propel the craft. No wood\, no metal\, no motors—just corrugated cardboard and imagination.  Boats can range from simple rafts to stunning ships and they must be able to float on the Sampit River. \nThe Ship’s Store: Poster signing and T-shirts –Wooden Boat Show featured artist will be on hand to sign posters.
