Local Handyman sculpts unique life-sized pink dinosaur display for Breast Cancer Awareness and Halloween
October 29, 2024Fundraiser benefits American Cancer Society until November 14, General public encouraged to stop by and post photos
Lexington-area native and master sculptor Christopher Price of Price Handyworks, LLC has created an exciting fundraiser in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month while celebrating the spirit of Halloween, combining family fun with a meaningful cause. Anyone who drives by 4570 Augusta Road in Lexington will notice the massive pink dinosaur display with pink ribbons. The life-sized dinosaur, affectionately known as Lex the T-Rex, along with other festive sculptures is handmade by Christopher Price himself.
“Every year my family likes to celebrate Halloween with Lex [the T-Rex], but this year we wanted to find a way to raise awareness for breast cancer research and support. Breast cancer affects everyone – it doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman. That’s why I’m stepping up to fight breast cancer with all I have. Since I’m in a position to make a difference within my community, I believe I have an obligation to do so,” said Christopher Price, owner, Price Handyworks. “By blending fun and education with a serious cause, we hope to raise $2,500 for the American Cancer Society. Come by, take a few pictures, and donate. We will also give out candy for trick or treaters on Halloween.”
Lex the T-Rex will be on display until Friday, November 14, when the fundraiser ends. Christopher will then switch to Christmas holiday decorations through the end of the year.
