The Greenville Chamber has hired Matt Wills to serve as Vice President of Government Affairs.

In this role, he will lead the Chamber’s local, state, and federal pro-business and economic growth advocacy efforts, as well as serve as Director of the Upstate Chamber Coalition. Before leading the Chamber’s advocacy efforts, Wills served as State Government Relations Director for Charter Communications, a Fortune 500 internet service and cable provider. He worked directly with local governments and legislative leaders to help state efforts to expand broadband to unserved and underserved communities across the state.

Prior to his time with Charter Communications, Matt worked as Senior Advisor to South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. He’s also held several political positions, including Political Director for Rick Santorum’s 2012 Presidential Campaign and Executive Director for the Missouri Republican Party.

Wills earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Alabama and is a retired professional golfer.

“Matt’s government affairs acumen that he’s developed from his extensive private sector and political experiences will greatly benefit the Chamber team, the Greenville business area, and our economy,” said Carlos Phillips, Greenville Chamber President/CEO.

Wills will begin his work with the Chamber on July 8th.
