On Track for a record-breaking year, GSP adds another route

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) is set for a record-breaking year as it continues to expand its air service, with the latest addition of nonstop service to Washington-Dulles International Airport (IAD) starting September 26, 2024. United Airlines will offer three daily nonstop flights to IAD on its 50-seat Embraer 145 aircraft.

With the addition of this route, United will provide daily nonstop flights to five key destinations, including Chicago/O’Hare, Denver, Houston, and New York/Newark. The new Dulles flights create advantageous global connections, offering passengers access to international destinations throughout Asia, Europe, and the Middle, while enhancing travel opportunities for both leisure and business travelers.

This new route marks the tenth addition to GSP’s air service in 2024, putting GSP on pace for serve the most passengers in a year. Through July, the airport has seen a 10.7% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2019, with May, June, and July setting records for the highest monthly traffic in the airport’s history. The addition of the new United route also means GSP will now have a presence in all major hub airports across the country.

With the addition of the new United route, GSP’s seven airlines will now offer nonstop service to 27 destinations.
