100 Women Who Care Midlands SC donates $11,000 to Tracy Starling Yates Foundation

100 Women Who Care Midlands SC at their 2nd quarter meeting elected to support the Tracy Starling Yates Foundation with a donation of $11,062.50. Members of 100 Women Who Care Midlands SC recently presented their checks to the members of the foundation’s leadership team. The mission of the Tracy Starling Yates Foundation is to award scholarships to those who have been adversely affected by the death of a parent/guardian due to cancer. These scholarships can be applied to four-year institutions, two-year institutions, or trade schools.

With over 100 current members, 100 Women Who Care Midlands SC formed a chapter in the Midlands at the beginning of 2018 and continues to grow their membership. 100 Women Who Care Midlands SC meets once quarterly for one hour and gives all donated monies to local non-profits in the Midlands of SC.

Members commit to giving one hour of their time each quarter to learn about local non-profits that are nominated by each member. Each member then agrees to support, financially, the local non-profit selected among those nominated and voted on, writing their checks directly to the selected non-profit each quarter. The combined giving of each member’s contribution makes a powerful impact locally. The combined giving of each member’s contribution makes a powerful impact locally. To date, 100 Women Midlands has donated over $241,770.75 to 25 different non-profits in the Midlands.

About 100 Women Who Care Midlands SC

The first 100 Women Who Care group was formed in November 2006 in Jackson, Michigan. From this first meeting, an international movement began and there are currently more than 750 chapters of 100 Women Who Care, 100 Men Who Care, 100 People Who Care, and 100 Kids Who Care is making a significant impact in communities throughout the world. In 2018 a group of local women brought the program to the Midlands of SC and hope to have a positive impact throughout the Midlands.
