2023 Big Red Barn Retreat 2023 Charity Golf Tournament at Charwood Golf Club

Sonic Drive-In is proud to present the second annual 2023 Big Red Barn Retreat Charity Golf Tournament at Charwood Golf Club on September 18th, 2023. Proceeds support free posttraumatic growth training for Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, and First Responders. The format for the Golf Tournament will be a Captains Choice where each player on a team of four (4) tees-off from their appropriate tee for their level. Afterwhich, the best drive is chosen and each player hits from that spot. The process is continued until the ball is holed out. Once team scores are submitted, each team’s score will be adjusted based on the team member’s handicap.
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third placed teams. In addition, there will be prizes awarded for longest drive, closest to the pin, and a hole-in-one. Raffle prizes will also be offered. “Everyone had a great time at our first inaugural charity golf tournament last year” says Lamont Christian, interim Executive Director and Director of the Warrior PATHH program at the Big Red Barn Retreat. “The ball drop raffle made from a bucket truck 40 feet in the air was especially popular as everyone was anxious to win the prize of an SEC Championship weekend experience for two that included tickets to the game in Atlanta.”
Tournament participants can arrive as early as 7:30A.M. to register and enjoy breakfast from Sonic Drive-In and morning signature cocktails from Savage Craft Ale Works. All teams will tee-off at 9:00 AM sharp. Once all the teams complete the course, players will be treated to a Low Country Boil prepared by Chef Jason N. Dersch with Farm to Flame culinary services.
