2023 MGC Long Run raises $33,135.25 to support USO

November 6, 2023

Six-year contribution to USO totals over $191,000

The 2023 MGC Long Run raised $33,135.25 for USO South Carolina. The USO South Carolina is a nonprofit organization that strengthens America’s military service members by connecting them to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation. The donation is a result of the 2023 MGC Long Run 15k, 5k and Kids’ Fun Run that took place on February 4.

“MGC is honored to once again be able to support the extraordinary mission of the USO. Military members and their families sacrifice so much in service to our country,” said Rusty Goudelock, one of MGC’s Founding Partners. “We remain humbled and committed to continuing to do our small part in keeping the USO by the side of the more than five million service members and their families wherever they go throughout the world. “

After a two-year hiatus due to the global pandemic, this was the seventh year for the MGC Long Run, and the sixth year in partnership with the USO South Carolina. This year’s event featured over 800 runners and walkers, as well as over 150 volunteers. This donation brings a six-year total donation to USO South Carolina of over $191,000.

“We are so grateful for our partnership with MGC, as their partnership brings our mission of connection to life,” said Joanie Thresher, Executive Director of the USO South Carolina and Coastal Georgia. “The contributions of the MGC team, along with the MGC Long Run volunteers, runners, walkers, sponsors and supporters make a lasting impact on the service members and military families we serve.”

The MGC Long Run is presented by McAngus Goudelock & Courie (MGC), a metrics-driven law firm built specifically to serve the insurance industry, their insureds and self-insureds. MGC launched the inaugural Long Run in 2014 as a way to give back to the Midlands community where the firm was founded. In 2020, the most recent event prior to this year the MGC Long Run had over 800 runners and walkers, and 200 volunteers, and raised an all-time high of $47,831.97 for the USO South Carolina.
