Piccolo to lead Trident Technical College Foundation, serve as development VP

April 2, 2018

Trident Technical College has named Lisa Piccolo vice president for development and executive director of the Trident Technical College Foundation.

Piccolo oversees the college’s development office, which is responsible for the annual fund, alumni relations, major gifts, donor stewardship and grants. She also serves as the executive director of the Trident Technical College Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with assets of more than $13 million. The foundation advocates and raises funds for the college to support the region’s economy. The foundation offers more than 100 scholarships to Trident Tech students, provides tuition assistance for Trident Tech employees, and administers a minigrant program that allows faculty and staff to purchase needed instructional equipment, materials and special resources.

Piccolo has more than 20 years of experience in fundraising, community outreach, corporate communication, and financial and administrative oversight. Most recently, she served as vice president of advancement and external relations and president of the Sheridan College Foundation at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. She has held similar positions at Ivy Tech Community College in Evansville, Indiana, and Henderson Community College in Henderson, Kentucky.

“Fundraising has become increasingly more important for colleges as the percentage of state funding going to higher education has declined,” said TTC President Mary Thornley. “Lisa has a thorough understanding of the challenges facing higher education, and she is well prepared to help Trident Tech meet these challenges through strategic resource development.”

Piccolo holds a master’s degree in public administration from Indiana State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto. She is currently working toward a doctorate in higher education leadership at Northeastern University. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Piccolo reports to Trident Tech’s president and serves on the president’s cabinet.
