The Ponds Conservancy Announces 2016 Lecture Series

The Ponds Conservancy is hosting a series of lectures in 2016 on various topics related to the history and culture of the land on which The Ponds is located.
The Ponds Conservancy, a not-for-profit community organization, was founded with the purpose of enhancing the quality of life and sense of community at The Ponds through educational programs, social events, cultural endeavors, and environmental stewardship. The organization’s goals of honoring the legacy of the land and people of the area is what spurred the idea behind this exciting new lecture series.
All lectures or talks will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month in The Farmhouse at The Ponds, 324 Hundred Oaks Pkwy, Summerville, SC 29483. The public is welcome to attend however our space is limited. Our schedule for the coming three months is below with additional talks to be announced in the coming month.
- January 17 – Rice Cultivation, Presented by Charles Philips, of Brockington and Associates. Philips’ specialty is the Colonial Southeast coastal land development during the Colonial period.
- February 21 – Avery Research Center at The College of Charleston presentation
- March 20 – History of The Ponds, Presented by Charles Philips
