March 2, 2017

Nearly 3,000 members of SAFE Federal Credit Union from across the Midlands are expected to attend the credit union’s annual business meeting on Monday, March 20, in Sumter.

Results of the yearly board of directors election will be announced, along with a number of college scholarships for local high school students.

Toby Hayes, vice president of marketing, noted that more than 2,000 votes have already been cast for the board of directors candidates, with voting remaining open until March 6.

“We always enjoy a huge turnout at our annual meetings, because we mix business and fun, in an atmosphere that reflects the special relationship between SAFE and our members,” Hayes said.

The event, which includes cash drawings and promotional giveaways in addition to conducting the credit union’s business, begins at 7 p.m. on the 20th at the Sumter Civic Center.
