Commercial real estate brokerage and development firm Diversified Development welcomes new associate, Josh Speed

Josh Speed has joined the team at Diversified Development, a regional, locally-owned commercial real estate brokerage and development firm based in Columbia, S.C. Details on the firm are available at www.DDIncorp.com.

Josh joined Diversified Development in 2017 after working on the Industrial Brokerage team at Newmark Grubb Wilson Kibler, an affiliate of the international brokerage firm Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. He was an associate for the firm for two years, focusing on investment and development projects. Prior to Newmark Grubb Wilson Kibler, Speed gained invaluable experience working in the residential development sector in different markets throughout South Carolina.

Josh is a Columbia, S.C., native and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. While at the University of South Carolina, Josh was involved in multiple organizations and participated in various philanthropy events to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He also represented USC for the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Reality Check for new growth and development in the Midlands area.

Josh is chair of the ULI Regional Young Leaders Group and serves on the ULI Midlands Executive Committee. He is a chapter member of the Greater Columbia Delta Waterfowl Committee and graduated from the Leadership Columbia Class of 2016. A member of SCWA Columbia, Josh also serves as the Trinity Cathedral High School Basketball Coach in downtown Columbia, S.C.

Diversified Development recently brokered the deal on the highly anticipated North Main St. property slated to become the NoMa Revival restaurant, grocery and butcher shop in downtown Columbia, S.C., and in 2016, the firm completed extensive renovations on the historic Parker Annex building in the BullStreet neighborhood, now available for sale as a two-story, 9,000 square foot office facility with modern features and preserved historic attributes.

The company is in the final stages of building a new multi-story self-storage facility in Asheville, N.C., and just completed a build-to-suit for Popeye’s in Conway, S.C.

Diversified Development’s other past and current projects in the Midlands include the South University campus, Occo Luxury Spa and TD Ameritrade in the Vista, Nicky’s Pizza and Pure Barre in Five Points, the Whaley Row townhouses, the DHL facility near the Columbia Metropolitan Airport, the former C&S operations center for Palmetto Health on Greystone Blvd., and numerous Rite Aid and MEDcare facilities throughout South Carolina.
