Experienced Upstate attorney opens solo practice and expands divorce practice

After decades practicing in a small firm, experienced attorney, Rhett Burney, has established the Law Office of Rhett D. Burney, P.C.
“I’m proud to announce the establishment of my own firm,” said attorney Rhett Burney. “I’ve had the privilege of practicing law with two fine attorneys for many years, but I’m excited about this new opportunity.”
Burney has been practicing law in the Upstate of South Carolina for over 20 years. He focuses his practice on divorce, child custody, and personal injury cases with a growing emphasis on helping clients survive a divorce. “Although a divorce is often the end of the traditional family unit, I work with my clients to help them get past the bitterness and devastation of a divorce,” said Burney. “I help them through a very difficult and emotional process, and I work with them to get their life back.”
In addition to his core areas of practice, Burney has also represented clients from hospitals to homeowners and individuals charged with crimes. He has won numerous arguments before the South Carolina Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
Burney is recognized as a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Membership in the organization is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.
