Reedy Reels will feature 37 films over seven sessions

Sci-fi, Charleston traffic jams, the American Revolution, urinals and trekking Mount Everest are some of the highlights of this year’s Countybank Reedy Reels Film Festival.
The festival will show 37 films over seven sessions on Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5 at the Peace Center’s Gunter Theatre, said Mike Giordano, one of the festival’s board members. The schedule is a mix of feature-length films, short films and documentaries. The full schedule can be found here.
“We wanted to give audiences a strong range of experiences to enjoy this year,” Giordano said. “We had more than 70 films submitted so the selection committee had a lot of work to do to create this wonderful list of films.”
The Reedy Reels Film Festival promotes the appreciation of the art of filmmaking while generating support for independent film-makers especially in the Upstate. The festival engages the community and creates exposure for local film-making while building inspiration and new opportunities for local artists.
Festival supporters for 2017 are Countybank, Metropolitan Arts Council, Michelin, BMW Performance Center, Constellation Brands, Let People See, Endeavor and the City of Greenville.
Individual tickets cost $12 per session. There are also day passes that cost $30 for Saturday or Sunday, and gets filmgoers into any showing that day. A $50 Festival Pass gives attendees premier seating at all of this year’s film screenings and workshops. All tickets can be purchased at the Reedy Reels website or the Peace Center Box Office.
“We are extremely excited about the list of films being shown this year,” Giordano said. “We know Greenville and the Upstate will enjoy it.”
