Furay wins third Soaring Eagle Award

March 22, 2017

Guy Furay, owner of The Insurance Source, has been honored by The National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) with a 2017 Soaring Eagle Award.

The Soaring Eagle Award is the highest honor given by the NAHU. This prestigious recognition is awarded to members who have achieved the greatest success in demonstrating exceptional professional knowledge and outstanding client service.

This marks the third year in a row that NAHU has honored Furay as roughly 250 people receive the award annually.

Furay began his insurance career in 1997 with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. He opened The Insurance Source, an independent brokerage specializing in health insurance in 2005. Furay earned the FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute) and GBA (Group Benefits Associate) designations. He also completed four of the eight graduate level courses to earn the CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania.

Since 2013, the firm has doubled sales volume by leveraging its team and putting people in position to do what they do best – keeping the focus on how they can best serve their customers.

With all of the constant change in the health insurance world in the last several years, Furay believes that an independent broker is the best source of information and help.

“I’m humbled and honored that so many have chosen to rely on us and that NAHU has recognized our firm as one of the best in the nation,” he said.
