Amber Morgan of Greenville Technical College among ten selected nationwide for Outstanding First-Year Student Advocate Award

Amber Morgan of Greenville Technical College has been selected for the 2018 Outstanding First-Year Student Advocate Award for her outstanding work to impact the culture at her institution.
For the 29th year, the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience & Students in Transition at the University of South Carolina and Cengage Learning are honoring college faculty, administrators, staff and students. Ten individuals have been chosen from 115 nominations for their outstanding work on behalf of first-year students and for the impact their efforts have on the students and the culture of their institutions.
In addition to Morgan, recipients of the 2018 Outstanding First-Year Student Advocate Award are: Courtney Bringley of Paul Smith’s College, Tim Cairy of Widener University,
Christopher Francisco of Oklahoma State University, Lynn Gillette of Nicholls State University, Ernest Jeffries of Davidson College, Paz Oliverez of California State University Dominguez Hills, Joanne Pedersen of California State University San Marcos, David Rizzo of University of California Davis, and Jennie Towner of Harford Community College.
The recipients were recognized on Feb. 10 at the Annual Conference on The First-Year Experience in San Antonio, Texas.
