Donate military items or shop to benefit the future museum!

February 13, 2017

“I have quite a few items from when I served in the military during World War II and my family does not have any interest in having them,” stated Bucky Smart, a local Greenville County resident who tuned 96 last year.  “I plan to go through all my stuff and give it to the museum so others can learn from seeing them or the museum can benefit from selling them to a collector who will appreciate them.”

“I bet many people, like myself, have collected military items over the years and now see that their children are not interested in having them once we are gone.  I want these items to find a good home with someone who would appreciate them as I did when I first acquired them,” stated Joe Frasher, Airport Director of the Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) in South Carolina.

The Military History Center of the Carolinas’ museum at the Greenville Downtown Airport is under construction.  A huge sale will be held to create awareness for this great endeavor and to raise much needed funds.

“I hope everyone that has items stored away in their attic, basement or closet will consider letting them once again see the light of day,” added Frasher.  “Some of the items donated will be kept to display in the future museum and others will be sold to benefit the museum.  Either way they will be appreciated by someone and not just continue to collect dust in storage,” Frasher stated.
