Local Ad Club awards best and brightest in annual gala

March 7, 2016

The 2016 American Advertising Award winners were announced at the American Advertising Federation of Greenville’s (AAF Greenville) annual awards gala in late February. Approximately 180 guests from all across the Upstate came dressed in their most wonderful attire for a cocktail party and awards presentation inspired by the Lewis Carrol classic, “Alice in Wonderland.”

The three-tier American Advertising Awards competition celebrates creative excellence in the art of advertising and recognizes achievement of both professionals and students at the local, regional and national levels.

AAF Greenville’s Best of Show and top honors went to BRIGHT+CO Marketing for a website for Mystique, a Naples, Fla.-based high-rise luxury development company.

Tony Williams of Infinity Marketing was honored with the Silver Medal Award, the highest honor awarded by the American Advertising Federation’s local clubs. The Silver Medal Award program was established in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising, been active in furthering industry standards, exhibited creative excellence and demonstrated responsibility in areas of community development.

Infinity Marketing also took home Silver Awards during the evening. Other professional winners included Fairway Outdoor, Flourish, Jackson Marketing Group, VantagePoint Marketing, Photoelectric and ZWO for Gold Awards; Cargo, Let People See and Engenius for Silver Awards; and Fairway Outdoor and Let People See for Judge’s Choice Awards.

Sarah Grace Kivett of Anderson University was awarded the Student Best of Show award for Clever Cow Milk, a Sales Promotion/Packaging design.

AAF Greenville gold-level winners, both professional and student, will advance to the AAF District 3 competition, where they will be judged against other winners from North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. District gold-level winners will then advance to the AAF National Competition, and national winners will be honored at the AAF National Conference on June 4–7, 2016 at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif.
