A Marketing Firm for the Little Guys

Small businesses all over the Upstate are celebrating the opening of Tangible Intentions, a new full-service marketing firm that specializes in high-quality products and personalized service for small businesses with small budgets.  Founded by Anthony and Joanna Reese, Tangible Intentions has a simple mission: to offer intentional marketing and design efforts that generate tangible results at an affordable price.

In 2012, Joanna’s parents wanted to build a website for their small “U-Pick” Farm, but the local marketing agencies’ bids came in at $3,000-$9,000. That was simply out of the budget, and this is when the idea for Tangible Intentions was born. As children of small business owners, both Anthony and Joanna have a passion to support the little guys. “The average small business owner can’t shell out $10,000 for a website” Anthony explained, “Much less a monthly subscription of $1,500+ for simple social media maintenance.”

Anthony has a background in journalism and web design, is currently finishing up his Master of Fine Arts degree, and has a strong eye for graphic design. Joanna is at the opposite end of the spectrum with degrees in both Marketing and Business, and background experience in corporate America. The couple, who has been together since high school, have the perfect formula for integrating business strategy with optimized design to assist local small businesses in improving their bottom line.  

“Every smart business owner already knows that they need a website and digital presence, but a lot still don’t have one,” Joanna says, describing their business model. “Or if they do, it is poorly designed and not mobile-friendly, because most marketing firms charge such extravagant prices. Our goal is to flip the marketing industry upside down. We will continue to charge fair prices, no matter how much we grow, to ensure that all small businesses have a fair chance against corporations in obtaining clients online.”

Tangible Intentions will also be the first marketing firm to contribute to the revitalization of the Historic Village of West Greenville, as they settle into their new office in the heart of the Art District in January 2016.
