Greenville County Redevelopment Authority announces appointment of New Executive Director

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville County Redevelopment Authority (GCRA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stanley (Stan) Wilson as the organization’s new Executive Director. Wilson will assume leadership of the agency effective November 1, 2015. He will fill the role vacated by Martin Livingston, who directed the organization for the last ten years. Livingston resigned in July to focus on family responsibilities.
Wilson comes to GCRA from the position of Executive Director of the Salisbury-Rowan Community Action Agency, Inc., (SRCAA) in Salisbury, NC, where he has served since 2011. Immediately prior to his work with SRCAA, Wilson headed operations and planning as the executive vice president for Builders of Hope in Raleigh, NC. He began his career as the Housing Director for the City of Charlotte, NC, serving in that capacity for 12 years. Wilson earned a bachelor of business administration degree from Western New England University. He is also certified in Public Housing Management (PHM).
“The GCRA Board went through a very extensive search process and Stan was one of two finalists,” explained GCRA Board Chairman, David Doser. “During our interviews with him we were impressed with his evenhanded approach to management; his experience working with community partners; and his extensive knowledge of the work required of GCRA.”
The new Executive Director is eagerly anticipating the start of his important work in Greenville County. “I am excited about joining GCRA and having the opportunity to build on the tradition of excellence that has been established at the organization,” said Wilson.
“With Stan’s knowledge and experience regarding HUD programs we believe that under his leadership GCRA will continue to be one of the most outstanding Community Development agencies in the Southeast,” stated Doser. “We will remain focused on residential single-family and multifamily development, redevelopment and infill housing in GCRA’s neighborhoods, and seeking grants to help expand the organization’s impact throughout Greenville County.”
