Scotty Roberson Leads Field Sobriety Testing Course in Atlanta

GREENVILLE, SC – Scotty Roberson, Staff Investigator for DUI Attorney Steve Sumner, helped lead the “Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course” (NHTSA) in Atlanta earlier this month.  Roberson was invited to serve as Proctor and grader of the students on their knowledge and application of field sobriety tests.

Attorney Bubba Head – Senior Partner in Atlanta’s largest DUI firm and named the nation’s leading DUI attorney – hosted the seminar.  Dr. Lance Platt, one of the top experts in the field sobriety testing in the U.S., served as Coordinator and Lead Instructor.

The seminar was attended by over 20 investigators and attorneys from across the southeastern United States.

Roberson was first certified to give field sobriety tests in 1995 and then certified as an instructor in 2007.  He joined Attorney Steve Sumner in 2003, after a fourteen year career in law enforcement.  His area of specialization was alcohol and drug related offenses.  He was awarded the A.C.E. Distinction in 2000 by the Office of the Director of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.  In 2001, he was awarded the Traffic Safety Officer (TSO) designation by the Office of the Governor of South Carolina.  He also received the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office “Distinguished Service Award”.
