Ross Stores opening new facility in York County

YORK COUNTY, SC – April 11, 2012 – Ross Stores Inc. (“Ross”) will open anew distribution and warehousing facility in York County. Under a fiveyear program, the new 1.2 million square foot facility is expected togenerate approximately 600 new jobs over that time period. Ross plans touse the new Rock Hill facility to distribute merchandise to its retailstores located in 30 states. The distribution center is expected to beup and running sometime in 2013.

Michael Wilson, senior vice president of Supply Chain for Rosscommented, “Ross has found York County a good place to do business overthe past ten years. We currently operate in the county over 1.9 millionsquare feet of warehouse and distribution space as well as our supplychain headquarters. We look forward to adding this new facility to ourdistribution capabilities.”

This new operation is verification of York County’s focuson the value of existing industry and the benefits they bring to ourcommunity. We are excited about the hundreds of new jobs that will bepart of this investment as we strive to make York County the mostbusiness-friendly county in the nation.”
