New Water Line To Be Installed At The Intersection of Church Street and Evins Street

SPARTANBURG, SC – April 12, 2011 -Beginning today, work will commence on a new 12 water line starting in the center of N. Church Street (Hwy 221) at the intersection of Evins Street.  This work will proceed 920 feet in the east bound Lane of Evins Street.

Construction will take place in the evening hours beginning at 6 pm through 7 am for approximately 2-3 days with the left hand, north bound lane closed.

 Weather permitting, beginning April 20th, the entire east bound lane of Evins Street will be closed for the continuation of the water main project.  This lane will be closed for approximately 3 weeks and the west bound lane of Evins will become one-way traffic – east bound.

 All motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists should be cautious of ongoing construction and be aware that lane closures will be temporary.  Traffic is expected to still move through the project with only short-term closures and interruptions.
