ReWa Awarded for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Community
October 6, 2010GREENVILLE, SC – October 6, 2010 – For the twelfth consecutive year, The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awards Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) the Popular Annual Financial Report Award (PAFR) for its 2009 Annual Report to the Community.
The PAFR award recognizes ReWa for comprehensive, high quality reports which are accessible and understandable to the local public. Impartial, experienced panels of judges are selected analyze the Annual Financial Reports.
The PAFR award has been presented annually since its inception in 1991 by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) and the award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA)
The purpose of the Government Finance Officers Association is to enhance and promote the professional management of governments for the public benefit by identifying and developing financial policies and best practices and promoting their use through education, training, facilitation of member networking, and leadership. The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,400 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C.
Renewable Water Resources (ReWa)
ReWa’s goal is to promote a cleaner environment, and to protect the public health and water quality of the Upstate waterways, while providing and developing the necessary sewer infrastructure for the growing economy. ReWa serves more than 400,000 industrial, commercial and residential customers in Greenville County and parts of Anderson, Spartanburg, Pickens and Laurens Counties.
