Collins & Lacy Attorney Ross Plyler Selected for Leadership Greenville

The Leadership Greenville program began in 1973 to help developinformed, committed and qualified leaders for Greenville County. Bytaking an intensive look into the issues affecting Greenville County,Leadership Greenville prepares and motivates participants to providequality, dynamic leadership within the area. Many Leadership Greenvillealumni have served in key leadership positions, some of which includecity council, county council, school board, members of Congress andjudges.
Ross is a senior associate with Collins & Lacy practicing in theareas of insurance litigation, employment law, transportation law andcollege and university law. Ross is a summa cum laude graduate ofWofford College, where he received his undergraduate degree inGovernment and History and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He receivedhis Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Following law school, he served as a law clerk for The Honorable HenryM. Herlong, Jr., United States District Court Judge.
Ross is active in both the legal field and his community. He isVice-Chairman of the Goodwill Foundation Board. He serves on the Boardof Directors for Goodwill Industries of the Upstate/Midlands. He is onthe House of Delegates for the South Carolina Bar as well as theLawyers’ Professionalism and Ethics Committee for the Defense ResearchInstitute. Additionally, Ross has been a member of First PresbyterianChurch of Greenville for more than 20 years. He currently serves as aDeacon, a role in which he works with the First Presbyterian Academy toprovide educational opportunities to children in the Greenvillecommunity.
When asked about his participation in Leadership Greenville, Ross says,“As a new father, I want Greenville to continue to foster the quality oflife that I remember growing up in the area. It is this essence ofcommunity that compelled me to return to Greenville after law school tolive, work and raise my own family. Leadership Greenville gives me theopportunity to meet and interact with a wide spectrum of individuals whofeel a similar sense of stewardship to continue moving Greenvilleforward.”
