The COMET to restore limited service on Sunday and full service on Monday with free service for the entire week

The COMET will be restoring limited transit services on Sunday, September 16, 2018 starting at 12:00 noon through 9:00 p.m. as a dial-a-ride service.  Customers can call (803) 255-7100 for a ride starting at 11:00 a.m., at least one hour in advance and state the bus stop location that the customer is boarding at.  A bus will be dispatched within a 30 minute window time. The last reservation for this special dial-a-ride service is 9:00pm.  Service will be provided anywhere along the following Fixed Routes: 6, 11, 12, 31, 32, 42, 45, 55, 75, 76, 77, 82X, 83L, 84, 101, 201, 301, 401, 501, 601, 701 and 801.  This dial-a-ride service will be free.

Full regularly scheduled Fixed Route service and DART ADA paratransit will resume on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 4:30 a.m.  When the service resumes, we will offer free rides for the entire week for Fixed Routes ending on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:59 p.m.  DART rates of $3.00 per trip will apply.

Also, the new Route 22 traveling between Colony Apartments, through Bull Street Development via Harden Street to Five Points and Rosewood Drive will begin on Monday, September 17, 2018 starting at 6:52 a.m. to 6:49 p.m., every 60 minutes.

The public meeting on September 17th from 4:30p.m. – 6:30p.m. at Richland Library Sandhill will be held as scheduled.

The COMET is a service of the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority and provides countywide public transit services on 35 fixed routes, two ReFlex services and DART ADA complementary paratransit service throughout Richland and western Lexington Counties.
