Midlands Technical College’s Tom Ledbetter honored for entrepreneurial success by Irmo community

Tom Ledbetter, the director of Midlands Technical College’s (MTC) Center for Entrepreneurial Success, received the Education Award from the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce at its annual Awards Night and Gala. The award recognizes an individual, company, or organization that has made a positive contribution to the Greater Irmo Community in the field of Education.

“Tom’s work with MTC and the Center for Entrepreneurial Success has enabled him to reach out to students and connect them with members of the Irmo business community,” said Kerry Powers, President of Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce. “He continues to be a valuable asset to the Irmo Chamber and a mentor to so many in this community!”

Ledbetter is a Past Chair of the Greater Irmo Chamber, and he has spent many years representing Midlands Technical College in the Irmo community. His work through the Center of Entrepreneurial Success has enabled him to reach out to students and help them make connections within the Irmo business community so they can take that bright idea and turn it into a sustainable and profitable venture.

Ledbetter was previously selected for the Order of the Okra Award, which recognizes a business or professional who shows outstanding customer service and employee loyalty while building strong customer relationships.
