YouTube stars, Hollywood veterans, and hilarious mommas – Comedy Troupe “The BreakWomb” comes to the Midlands

Based in Los Angeles, the mommas of The BreakWomb are veterans of some of the most well-known comedy shows and movies, and they have become breakout YouTube stars with daily videos targeted towards mothers who need a laugh. These hilarious women will bring their joy, parental comedy, and audience-inspired improv to Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College onSaturday, March 10, 2018 at 7:30 PM.

“Getting eyeballs on anything you create online is a huge hurdle for actors today,” wrote one critic in a review of the troupe’s show in Motherhood in Hollywood. “The moms of The BreakWomb are leaping over that hurdle. They bill themselves as moms who do sketch comedy, or comedians who do motherhood. Any way you pitch it, they’ve struck gold.”
The women have appeared in numerous shows and films including Arrested Development, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Bridesmaids, and This is 40, but most importantly, they’ve spent hundreds of nights walking the floor and changing diapers.
“My sides almost split the first time I watched one of these ladies’ videos. I can’t wait to share their humor with other Midlands mommas,” says Kristin Cobb, Executive Director of HT@MTC. “Their stories are relatable, and the audience is in for a real treat.”
The troupe includes:
- Beth Crosby: an actor, writer, new mom, Groundlings Sunday Company alum, and Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama graduate. Some of her TV credits include Dr. Ken, New Girl, Bones, 2 Broke Girls, and Parental Discretion. She is the co-creator/performer of the hit NewNowNext Award nominated web-series Jessica and Hunter, as well as the creator of numerous viral comedy videos featured on E!, The Huffington Post, Good Day LA, ABC’s World News, and Buzzfeed.
- Molly Erdman: an actor and writer with an extensive improv and sketch background. She is an alum of Second City Chicago, where she was a member of the National Touring Company and the Mainstage cast. She is the creator of the popular blog Catalog Living, the author of the book Catalog Living at its Most Absurd, and she is a contributing writer for Cartoon Network’s Bugs Bunny reboot, Wabbit. Molly has made many TV appearances including Arrested Development,The Millers, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and she has appeared in many national commercials for brands including Sonic Drive-In, Toyota, and Geico. She can currently be seen managing a girls’ softball team in the independent feature film All Stars.
- Megan Grano: an actor, writer, and director. She currently tours the country performing live comedy shows with Jim Belushi. Past writing jobs include staff writing for Jimmy Kimmel Live! and copywriting for Draft FCB and Hog Butcher ad agencies. Megan is a 2008 Second City Chicago alum. She does voice work on Family Guy and American Dad, and she has appeared on screen in various TV shows as well as the films Bridesmaids and This is 40. Megan directs live theater, YouTube videos, and provides executive speech coaching.
The BreakWomb’s live show is a night full of sketch comedy, improvisation, and multi-media. Get a sitter, and grab your girlfriends for a fun night of “MomCom!”
