January 31, 2018

Palmetto Tax Advocates announced that Dustin Scott has joined the company as a tax accountant.

Scott is an accountant, with undergraduate and master’s degrees in business administration and accounting, and formerly worked with a highly regarded South Carolina Certified Public Accounting firm. Scott is also licensed to practice before the IRS and state tax agencies as an Enrolled Agent.  Enrolled Agents have earned the right to represent taxpayers before the IRS by passing a comprehensive three-part IRS examination covering individual and business taxes. Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential awarded by the IRS.

“We are excited about Dustin joining Palmetto Tax Advocates. Dustin’s education, training, and experience make him well-suited to represent and advise clients to resolve their tax liabilities with the IRS and state tax agencies,” said Erik Doerring, the head of Palmetto Tax Advocates.

Palmetto Tax Advocates represents and advises clients before the IRS and state and local tax authorities on a wide range of tax issues, including late or unfiled tax returns, unpaid employment tax audits, individual “trust fund” liability, offers in compromise, tax lien releases, tax payment plans, innocent spouse relief, collection due process appeals, and more.
